Leanne Marshall won Project Runway season 5: Leanne Marshall, a soft-spoken designer from Portland,
Oregon, won the fifth season of the U.S. fashion reality show “Project Runway” on Wednesday in the hit Bravo show’s first all-female finale.
Marshall, 27, impressed the show’s judges with a wave-inspired collection rendered almost entirely in shades of white,
beige and gentle milky blues, which also illustrated the architectural, structured style that served her well in the season’s later episodes.
The judges on the Bravo show appreciated the Portland resident’s modern, clean look and her use of sustainable fabrics.
The judging panel, which included “Runway” mentor Tim Gunn for the first time, also pointed out that the final collection Marshall showed at New York’s Fashion Week did feature quite a few of her signature flaps or petals. Perhaps too many.
