The Second Annual Big Spring High School Regional Girls Open Golf Tournament was played Thursday at Cumberland Golf Club.
In the end, it was Northern’s Madison Houseal taking the top spot with a score of 78. Houseal beat out 29 other girls from 15 area schools in the girls only event — something unique to high school golf.
“What a great place for area girls to showcase their talents,” Big Spring head coach Rick Stokes. Spring break girls
Houseal edged out Chambersburg’s Mallory Cortis, who finished in second place with an 80. Big Spring’s Kathleen Woods’ 87 was good enough for fourth place — just behind Solanco’s Amber Roher (86). Kacy Straub of Chambersburg rounded out the Top 5 with an 88. Boiling Springs’ Alexa Elias (89) finished sixth and Big Spring’s Rachel Helm (89) was seventh. Spring break girls
