Eurovision 2008 Final Result-Ranking

Sweden was nowhere to be found on the top 5 last night it was a big surprise for everyone Greece made it to the top three (so was I, because I didn’t put Greece as a top contender), Russia Dima Bilan ”Believe” the i.m.p.o.s.s.i.i.i.b.e.l (impossible- me and Rikka joked about because of the hard accent) tallied the highest votes with 272 points and grabbed the grand prize of Eurovision Song Contest 2008! CONGRATULATIONS!

The Russian team sent their famous Edvin Marton and Russian Olympic skater Yevgeny Plyushchenko! (That was a good “TEAM UP”! I am sure Nicki was so happy her figure skating buddy was there) The Krug and booze was flowing we really had great time though crazy party and so much fun and we cheered during the voting when Malta gave us a perfect score of 12 points that pulled us up to 18th place! Thank you Malta! Patriotically we cheered for our country and for Charlotte Perelli! Here’s the result of the final ranking:
Russia Winner Eurovision 2008
1.Russia, 2.Ukraine 3. Greece 4.Armenia, 5.Norway, 6.Serbia 7. Turkey 8.Azerbaijan 9.Israel 10. Bosnia & Herzegovina

11. Georgia 12. Latvia 13. Portugal 14. Iceland 15. Denmark 16. Spain 17. Albania 18. Sweden 19. France 20. Romania 21. Croatia 22. Finland 23. Germany 24. Poland 25. United Kingdom.

“We couldn’t have done any better. We laughed our way through the voting because we felt that we were never in contention. We never had a chance.” Perelli says.

Would it not be fairer if every country’s song were sung in Esperanto?

Esperanto works! I learned it in my late teens, and I’ve used it in speech and writing in a dozen countries over recent years. As a planned auxiliary language, it is easier to learn and use than national tongues.

Take a look at http://www.esperanto.net

It’s true! I agree with you England, The highest you bid the bigger of chances going to the finals.

I guess the final is another bidding.
Russia was the highest bidder.

I thought Ukraine would have made a better winner than Dima Bilan. He was just trying too much. I felt that Charlotte’s performance in the national finals was better. There was a part towards the end where she was off-key. Nonetheless she’s a real strong talent and she’s fierce.

After listening to the songs lots of times, I find Quele Quele more appealing than Shady Lady. COME QUELE, MOVE QUELE… :D

honestly i dont like russia’s song or dima bilan’s attitude. i’m deeply disappointed by the results and i wasn’t expecting russia even once in a million to be winner. I’m from greece, of course i would want my country to win but even if not my country then at least ukraine or armenia or serbia, they had great songs and performances..it’s all about politics, as always. What all countries should do is give up on eurovision since it’s not fair, few other countries have done it already and that’s what should happen with the rest of the countries as well.
