Fendi felt the need to raise the bar this season

In a time when, despite controversy, the majority of designers have at least one fur effort in their autumn/winter collections, Fendi felt the need to raise the bar this season – a gold bar, in fact.
Using a new (not to mention patented) technological method of depositing gold onto the pelts of fur, Lagerfeld showed an impressive collection of mink and fox fur that literally glowed as the models waltzed down the runway.
In case those in the front row hadn’t quite realised, one completely gold mini skirt, teamed with an oversized black cable-knit sweater, caught the eye. Other notable features of the collection were Lagerfeld’s proportions – the clothes were kept short (but for a few floor-length evening gowns and one long, tight leather skirt that looked heavy and difficult to walk in) with lots of volume remaining a common theme.
The cable-knit sweaters, belted at the waist, had thick, high necks with big, draped sleeves while the navy caped coats were an understated luxury. The mini reigned supreme – the collection of bubble-skirts, come with fur trim in leather or cashmere, being the central element of the show. V
