Oscar 2008 red carpet

Katherine Heigl, Helen Mirren, Miley Cyrus, Ruby Dee, Anne Hathaway and Heidi Klum were among the stars in red gowns Sunday night at the Kodak Theatre in Los Angeles. Shades of plum were worn by Cate Blanchett and Jessica Alba.

“The actresses went regal and royal with rich reds and purples,” said Oscar.com fashion analyst Tom Julian.
Rubenstein added: “There was a kind of uniform timelessness, which is very nice, but considering those who watch this show do it to get a fashion cue, I wish they were a little more timely than timeless.”

He labeled French actress Marion Cotillard’s ivory-and-silver gown by Jean Paul Gaultier with scalloped fabric that looked like fish scales the most distinctive of the night.

Jennifer Hudson, who caused last year’s biggest fashion flap with a futuristic bolero jacket, was more appropriate this year in a white halter gown.

Pregnant actresses Blanchett, in a Dries van Noten halter gown with floral beading on the skirt, and Alba,.
One-shoulder gowns were also popular, worn by Hilary Swank in Versace, Olivia Thirlby in Vera Wang, Hathaway in Marchesa and Heigl in Escada. Heigl’s gown had a slim-fitting draped bodice, and the front of Hathaway’s gown was covered in fabric roses.

Tilda Swinton, who told E! she had never even seen the Oscars on TV, wore an odd one-arm gown by Alber Elbaz for Lanvin and no apparent makeup, a look that seemed in character for the actress, who was born in London into a patrician Scottish military family.

Calista Flockhart went for a vintage ice-blue goddess gown from Rare Vintage.

Several stars opted for strapless styles, including Renee Zellweger in a silver lace gown by Carolina Herrera. Read the rest of this entry »

    Oscar 2008 result

Oscar 2008While waiting for the Oscar 2008 result - Jon Stewart the Oscar host.

An Oscar emcee, after all, has only so much control over a program that is usually more padded and painful than an “American Idol” results show. Stewart really can’t do anything about the safe acceptance speeches, the snoozy clip-reel montages or the hideous song-and-dance numbers.

And he certainly can’t be faulted for the Hollywood stiffs who take themselves oh so seriously. Remember how, in his first Oscar stint two years ago, Stewart marveled at the exuberance of Three 6 Mafia and incredulously asked, “How come they’re the most excited people here?”

Yeah, the guy doesn’t have a whole lot to work with. Read the rest of this entry »

FASHION WEEKYohji Yamamoto, who will show his new autumn/winter collection in Paris on Monday night, has announced details of a historic new initiative in China, which will benefit his new Fund for Peace.

In April, Yamamoto will stage a gigantic fashion presentation of his Y’s collection at a World Heritage Site in Beijing.

The as yet unnamed site has been listed by UNESCO since 1987 for its outstanding cultural importance to the common heritage of humanity.

The ground-breaking event, on April 24th, is being organised jointly with the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries and marks the first time the CPAFFC has worked together with an overseas privately-owned fashion house.

Yamamoto is working on a new 60-piece Y’s collection of men’s and women’s wear for the show, each of the designs being a one-off.

    Milan Fashion Week: Etro

FASHION WEEKVeronica Etro, the young hippie of the family textiles firm, evoked the spirit of wanderlust and the wilderness in her Etro collection.

Blanket and totem prints featured on snugly, wraparound coats, fitted jackets and sheepskins.

Waistcoats came in a woodsy leaf-print and paisley mixes in ruby, black, burgundy and purple, which were used for body-conscious spencer’s and military-look jackets with full skirts.

The collection featured, in fact, some of the shortest skirts we have seen this season in Milan, in contrast to the over-the-knee lengths, which have been seen elsewhere in ra-ra, puffball, skating and bubble shapes.

For some reason people mob my site and I am losing my Bandwidth every now and then so if this can’t be stopped I should slowly push my arse to a right server. I have been receiving thousands of visitors a day and that’s for real. Don’t know how my sweet cl*tless defunct character as a betch suddenly became splashing into the spotlight. A *hore like me just couldn’t be replaced. ;)

Victoria Silvstedt sistersThere’s not much alcohol party this time so less I could have a creative and malicious thinking for my blog but still kind people keep tipping me something to publish on my blog but anyway, really thank you and appreciate that. Honestly I bought someone who could update my blog entry whenever if my lazy wizzy arse turns grey. Oh! Come hell on earth still Swedish sizzles and here’s the total proof and latest of Victoria Silvstedt which movie “Sisters” we’ll be on Swedish T.V this weekend.

Victoria Silvstedt är aktuell med en ny Sisters kampanj och denna gången även med en reklamfilm med hennes syster Veronica.

Victoria Silvstedt was the first runner-up in Miss Sweden, and went on to represent Sweden in the Miss World contest in South Africa, reaching the final eight contestants.

She was then signed by a Parisian modeling agent and began a career in high fashion, working for various companies including Chanel, Christian Dior, Loris Azzaro, Givenchy, Valentino, and Giorgio Armani.” Read the rest of this entry »
