The new year’s practically banging on our doors and the fashionistas would be all ready to update their wardrobe.
Thankfully, the fash frat assures that you needn’t trash all that you bought last year to accommodate the slew of new designs, as certain styles – the kalidar, empire cuts and silhouettes will continue to rule this year.
Brighter side of fashion
Manish Malhotra opines that 2008 will be a riot of colours: “I’m expecting a lot from 2008 in terms of colours. Off-whites will definitely be out.”
“Finally, by God’s grace, balloon skirts are out,” sighs Malhotra while advising one to trash them, though those who stocked up on velvet can keep them as the material will be seen in 2008 as well.
Lounging around
Informals are the way to go for designer Rocky S. “In 2008, men can opt for tapered slim fits in both top and bottom wear and I think this year lounge wear’s going to be huge hit in casuals. ”
For the fairer sex, 2008 holds “a bit of power dressing,” according to him. At the same time, “bottoms for women will either remain narrow or completely flared,” and “Empire cuts along with volume silhouettes and broad high-waisted will continue to reign.” /timesofindia.indiatimes.com
