NorthPark kicks off Fashion at the Park for fall

Models, music, champagne and shopping – in an 18,000-square-foot tent on the parking lot between Nordstrom and Macy’s.
With valet, of course.
After making a splash last March with its inaugural Fashion at the Park, NorthPark Center launches the fall version today. Autumn looks from labels such as Oscar de la Renta, Giorgio Armani, Valentino, MaxMara and CH Carolina Herrera will heat up the runway among the 19 fashion events through Sunday.
NorthPark planners have called their event a boutique version of Fashion Week in New York.
Unlike at Bryant Park, the clothes on display in Dallas are for sale now, which NorthPark hopes will encourage patrons to “shop the shows” afterward.
Sure to carry over from the spring event will be the gift bags given at many of the shows. While sample products and gift certificates were the norm, there was an occasional twist: Nordstrom invited guests at its show to visit the store afterward for mimosas and a special-edition designer teapot. /dallasnews.com
