LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - She can get out of jail, but Paris Hilton is having a harder time getting to Rwanda.
The charitable organization sponsoring Hilton’s planned trip to the African nation, part of her aim to swap partying for philanthropy, said on Thursday it was postponing the journey.
The Spanish-based group, Playing for Good, said it was canceling the trip due to a “restructuring” in its organization.
“Paris has been a loyal and gracious supporter of Playing for Good, but the foundation has to regrettably reschedule this trip,” the group said in a statement.
The group said it hoped to reschedule “at a later date.”

FEMALE FIRST. Nicky Hilton has been showing off the latest collection from her ‘Chick’ line at LA Fashion Week
There was no sign of Paris but parents, Kathy and Rick Hilton were there to show their support as models took to the runway in the nautical fantasy themed designs.
Hilton teamed printed tube tops with super-skinny white jeans and a thin white belt with plain pastel blue v-neck minidress.
Her red apple motif gave a Snow White feel to a bright red-and-white printed halter top worn with high-waisted bright red sailor pants. There was also a white dress trimmed with apples along the hem, a sun dress covered in the pattern and a tote bag carried with a sheer white voile beach cover-up.
The theme for the collection appeared to be grown up childhood fantasies. A gorgeous black skinny-belted mini with a contrasting white Peter Pan collar was sophisticated but still with a child-like edge to make it fun. A short-sleeved white jacket with contrasting black piping, worn with playschool bright red skinny jeans for a modern trendy look.
After making her New York Fashion Week debut last month with her high-end Nicholai line, Hilton seemed pleased to be getting back to a bit of girly fun with Chick- which she launched as her first line in 2004.
“It’s very cute, very girly, very feminine. It’s very reflective of the L.A. lifestyle — laid-back, casual,” she said. “Nicholai is definitely for the mature, sophisticated customer whereas Chick is just fun pieces.” Read the rest of this entry »
