A new Montreal-based website is offering rental designer handbags anywhere in Canada. Can the high-end handbag of your dreams be just a click away? I don’t think I would rent one. I’d like to own more!

Based on a similar service in France, StillChic.com was launched by Montreal web operation Studio Codency two weeks ago. Anyone can sign up and have a designer handbag shipped to them within 24 hours.
Members can rent the bag for as long as they want, with prices starting at about $40 per week (though some specials offer bags for less) and topping out near $300 a month.
The site stocks brands such as Marc Jacobs, Chloe, Luis Vuitton, Fendi and Prada. “We’re targeting women who want to stay with the trends and stay fashionable but can’t afford to stock their closet with these bags,” says Adriano Vissa, a project manager at the company. “We’re empowering women to look and feel their best without breaking the bank, so to speak.” Fashionista feminists unite!
The site also offers private sales of the bags, promising reductions of between 30 and 70 per cent off retail. For rentals, the company ships by Canada Post and offers delivery within 24 hours. More Fendi…
