katie grand takes over for mulberry

The British luxury goods brand Mulberry has announced Katie Grand will be replacing Stuart Vevers as their new creative director.
Grand is well known in the fashion industry for her prolific versatility, founding the youthful and cutting edge Pop magazine in 2000 after an already impressive career in the fashion media.
In addition to this she is in her element in the high end, luxury sector of design, having styled shows for Prada, Miu Miu, Louis Vuitton and Proenza Schouler.
Her first full collection will be for spring/summer 2009, when she is expected to merge her capabilities in both youth orientated and luxury fashion to help give the brand a refreshing and fashionable lift.
Grand told Vogue news, “Over the past year I’ve already established a relationship with the Mulberry creative team and together we’ve been moving the brand into a more fashion-oriented direction,” she said. “Now my appointment as creative director gives us further scope to develop the label’s new fashion focus while building on its traditional luxury values.”
