The new Seven wonders

I am actually happy with the result with the new Seven Wonders of the World. My favourite got the spot anyhow so I have little reason to celebrate. Brazil’s Statue of Christ Redeemer, Peru’s Machu Picchu, Mexico’s Chichen Itza pyramid, the Great Wall of China, Jordan’s Petra, the Colosseum in Rome and India’s Taj Mahal were named the new seven wonders of the world on July 7 at a ceremony in Lisbon.

The Great Wall of China.

The ancient Colosseum in Rome, Italy.

The 17th century Mughal-built Taj Mahal in Agra, India.

And my favorite. I think this one deserves the most.
The sites were selected according to a tally of around 100 million votes cast by people around the world over the Internet and by cell phone text messages, the nonprofit organization that conducted the poll said.
The Great Pyramids of Giza, the only surviving structures from the original seven wonders of the ancient world, kept their status in addition to the new seven.

My fave is Jordan’s Petra… I recall studying that in 1st Year Architecture in University… I was astounded back then and still am now.
It’s a breathtaking marvel of human engineering!
that is one of my favs as well.

Three out of my seven choices got in. That wasn’t bad.

I think Nicky should be one of the seven wonders in the world…
I will put her in second place.
The second wonder of the world.
