It was hard to miss Andy Warhol’s presence at the launch of “Famous Cars + Famous People” - well, the presence of his paintings, that is.Situated around the loft space at Drive In Studios Tuesday night were seven original Warhols commissioned by Mercedes-Benz that hadn’t been seen in more than a decade. The vivid paintings of, what else, Mercedes-Benz vehicles were painted in the pop artist’s iconic style of repetitive imagery and lent an artistic vibe to the night’s more contemporary showcase: the Mercedes-Benz CLK63 AMG Black Series. /AP
